April 1 was a busy day at the Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco as 200 players came to participate in the 8th Annual Lewisville ISD Education Foundation (LEF) Golf Tournament.
It was a fundraiser for the organization which during the past 26 years has contributed more than $3 million to students and teachers in the LISD in the form of scholarships and materials.
The players played on two courses at the Stonebriar Country Club, the Country Club Course and the Fazio Course.
Cinnamon Dilts, LEF communications director, said the total amount raised from the event has not yet been calculated. However, she did say that sponsors paid between $1,000 and $15,000 each. Individuals paid $1,000 each to play and teams of four played for $750. Sponsors did not pay extra to play.
The LEF also raised funds from a silent auction which included such items as sports memorabilia and a signed photo of all living presidents.
Raffles brought in extra income for the LEF.
Dilts said, “LEF will use the money to continue the work of improving the already-great public education in LISD through our teacher grant and student scholarship programs. – See more at: http://lewisvilletexan.org/xoops/modules/news/index.php?storytopic=43#sthash.NW7vJ0Tx.dpuf
