The City of Lewisville is proud to announce Randy Rogers Band and Gary Allan will headline the annual Western Days festival Sept. 28-29 in Old Town Lewisville.

Randy Rogers Band (randyrogersband.com) will be the featured act on Friday night, taking the Waste Management Main Stage at 10 p.m.

Randy Rogers Band formed in 2000 in San Marcos and burst onto the scene with its debut album, “Live at Cheatham Street Warehouse.” The same lineup has been performing together since 2002, and the music has evolved as they’ve soaked up life experiences. The band experienced nationwide success and recognition with the release of its “Rollercoaster” album in 2004. Two songs from that album made the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in early 2005.

The band has released seven albums, many receiving critical acclaim, spawning multiple Billboard hits. “One More Sad Song,” released in 2012, was the band’s first Top 40 hit. Three of their albums went to No. 1 on iTunes.

Saturday’s headliner will be Gary Allan (garyallan.com/wired), closing out the weekend festival at 10 p.m. on the Waste Management Main Stage.

Gary Allan has won over fans, peers and critics with his signature blend of smoldering vocals, rebellious lyrics and raucous live performances. While becoming a force on the country music scene, Allan has remained true to his artistic voice each step of the way. His latest album, “Set You Free,” topped the Billboard 200, a career first for Allan. The album also made its debut at the top of the Billboard Country Album chart and produced his fifth No. 1 country radio chart topper with “Every Storm Runs Out of Rain.”

The California native has sold more than 7 million albums since breaking on the scene back in 1996. He has been certified platinum on three consecutive albums and certified gold five times. Allan has five #1 hits on country radio, 14 Top 10 hits to his credit, and has amassed over 270 million total streams.

Something new for 2018 is the addition of a third outdoor stage. It will be located along S. Charles Street, near Samuel, out in front of Witherspoon Distillery, 225 S. Charles Street.

In addition to the headliners, several other well-known groups will be performing throughout the festival, providing a wide-ranging soundtrack for the day’s events. A full performance schedule can be found online.

Tickets for Western Days 2018 are now available and can be downloaded from LewisvilleWesternDays.com, or printed tickets can be picked up at city facilities and sponsor locations listed on the festival website.

This year’s Western Days event will include the 14th annual World Tamale Eating Championship sponsored by Market Street, an expanded Western Village, Indigenous A.C.E. Dancers and Singers, the Kid Kountry Playground presented by Castle Hills, a mechanical bull, a working blacksmith, Huffines Auto Dealerships Lewisville Cattle Drive Parade, Castle Hills Culinary Corner, an art exhibit at Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater, live entertainment on five stages and many more exciting activities.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Attendees will need to present their ticket at the gate for free admission between the hours of 5-7 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Beginning at 7 p.m. both nights, free tickets will no longer be redeemable, and a $10 cash only charge will be assessed for admission for everyone except children 12 and under.

Festival-goers are encouraged to use the free shuttle service to access the festival grounds. Shuttle hubs will be set up at DCTA Old Town Station, DCTA Hebron Station and the parking lot at the Lowe’s/Kohl’s shopping center at 1001 Valley Ridge Blvd. Shuttles will run every 10-15 minutes from 4 p.m. Friday to 12:30 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Saturday to 12:30 a.m. Sunday. While this is a pet-friendly event, pets and weapons will not be allowed on shuttle buses per bus company policy. Limited public parking will be available in various lots around Old Town.

Sponsors for Western Days 2018 include City of Lewisville, Lewisville Convention and Visitors Bureau, Waste Management, Republic Services, 99.5 The Wolf, Bud Light, Orthofix, Huffines Auto Dealerships Lewisville, Metro PCS, Market Street, Prime Controls, Southern Comfort Mechanical A/C and Heating, The Apparel Group, Castle Hills, Top Golf, Frost Bank, Hampton Inn and Suites Lewisville, CoServ, Denton County Transportation Authority, Texas New Mexico Power, Larue Vineyards, Gilley’s, Johnson Feed Company, Kris T’s tees, Cavalli Pizza, Prohibition Chicken and Star Local Media.
