Parker files bill to limit state spending growth

State Rep. Tan Parker, R-Flower Mound, filed H.B. 208 Tuesday, July 18, proposing to limit the biennial growth in state spending to no more than the growth of population and inflation.

Gov. Greg Abbott included spending limits on his 20-item agenda for the session. According to Parker, the bill creates a new formula for determining the spending cap using more accurate measurements of population growth and inflation rates.
