As the 35Express Project construction continues, motorists should be aware of the following traffic changes in the upcoming weeks:
- The two right lanes of northbound I-35E and various lanes of the northbound I-35E frontage road near Jones Street will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Oct. 4 to Oct. 9. Access to the northbound I-35E exit ramp to FM 407 will be maintained at all times. A flagging operation will be in place on east- and westbound Jones Street to assist with this operation.
- Various lanes of north- and southbound I-35E near FM 1171/Main Street will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Sunday, Oct. 16.
- The southbound I-35E exit ramp to SH 121 Business will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Sunday, Oct. 9. During this closure, traffic will exit to Fox Avenue and continue south along the frontage road to SH 121 Business.
- All lanes of southwest-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway frontage road at southbound I-35E and the right turn lane of the southbound I-35E frontage road at SH 121 will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Oct. 7 to Oct. 16. During this closure, traffic will turn right onto the northbound I-35E frontage road and continue to FM 3040/Round Grove Road. Motorists will then turn right onto the connector road from FM 3040/Round Grove Road and continue west to the southbound I-35E frontage road to Vista Ridge Mall Drive. Motorists will travel west on Vista Ridge Mall Drive, turn left and continue to the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road.
The 35Express project extends approximately 30 miles, through eight cities and two counties, from US 380 in Denton County to I-635 in Dallas County. The Design-Build project is expected to relieve traffic congestion in one of the most heavily traveled corridors in the North Texas region.
