Power restored after substation event

Texas-New Mexico Power spokesperson Eric Paul is reporting that power has been restored after a substation event affected the western part of Lewisville, leaving a large part of the city’s residential area without power.

Paul said the outage was caused by a single event at the power company’s western substation on North Garden Ridge Boulevard, and lasted from about 11:40 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Paul said the company is investigating, but it could be weeks before they know exactly what happened.

To report an outage in a TNMP service area, residents can call 888-866-7456. At that number, they can report their outage and hear an estimated restoration time.
