Police and fire departments to conduct drill Thursday night


Lewisville Fire Department and Lewisville Police Department will conduct a joint training drill tonight, 7-10 p.m., at Main Street Church of Christ, 950 W. Main Street.

This drill will simulate a multiple casualty terrorist attack with corresponding responses by fire, emergency medical, and police. Organizations participating in this training drill include: Lewisville Fire Department, Lewisville Police Department, Main Street Church of Christ, Lewisville Office of Emergency Management, and mutual aid medics from Farmers Branch, Coppell, Grapevine, Plano, Carrollton, and Denton.

This training drill is designed to create a learning environment for all participating organizations. It affords them the opportunity to practice emergency response plans, policies, and procedures. Key objectives that will be evaluated during the drill include:

  • Operational Coordination
  • Operational Communication
  • Public Health and Medical Services (triage, treatment, transport, patient tracking)
  • On-scene Security and Protection

This training drill is not open to the public. Residents in the area may notice an increased police and fire presence, but LFD and LPD will have representatives on site to answer any questions.
