Updated: Lewisville police identify suspect in fatal hit-and-run

Via Lewisville Police Department:
Due to a tip that came in at 9:00pm on October 4, 2016, the suspect vehicle was located at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Fox Ave. in Lewisville. The suspected driver was located through an investigation and found to be a 16-year-old female. The investigation is ongoing.

On Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at approximately 8:40 pm, a 45-year-old male pedestrian was struck in the right southbound lane of 1600 South SH 121 Business in Lewisville. Witness statements and video surveillance from surrounding businesses confirms the suspect vehicle as a two tone, red over tan or gray, 2004 – 2008 Ford F-150 crew cab pickup truck with tinted windows. The truck stopped for about 10 seconds, then fled the scene turning right onto westbound E Southwest Parkway.

At the scene, Investigators located the oval Ford emblem and red plastic pieces from the front grill assembly. Video footage also indicated the front right headlight sustained damage.

The 45-year-old male was rushed to a local hospital by ambulance but died a few hours later.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as Jose Vazquez-Munoz, who lived at 200 Oak Knoll Circle, an apartment complex across the street from the location of the crash.
