Updated: Lewisville police find body of missing woman in vehicle

Over the weekend of Feb. 4-5, flyers spread on Facebook seeking help in locating a Rachel Faires, 35, of Lewisville.  Her body was found Sunday in a parked vehicle.

The flyer had noted that she had last been seen in Highland Village on Jan. 28, driving her maroon 2005 Nissan Murano with Oregon plates. At 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Lewisville police patrolling the 500 block of Drexel Drive came upon a vehicle matching that description, parked in front of a house.  They noted an unresponsive female occupant in the vehicle.  Radio traffic indicated she was in the driver’s seat unconscious and not breathing.

LPD Captain Mike Lane said Monday that medics were summoned but the occupant was determined to be deceased. Lane said that no obvious signs of trauma were present.

The body was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy.  By Tuesday afternoon, Lewisville police officially identified the body as Faires.

The Tarrant County Medical examiner listed the cause of death as mixed-drug intoxication, and ruled that it was a suicide.
