The Lewisville Noon Rotary Club presented the Lewisville Police Department Family Association with a check for $6,304.72.

The LPD Family Association supports the immediate families of local officers by providing education and information to family members, promoting a larger family mentality throughout the department and providing meals to officers, including those on-duty during Thanksgiving and Christmas shifts. The group operates solely on donations such as this one.

The Noon Rotary Club had previously honored LPD officers and their families with a Night of Honor, chaired by Fred Whitfield. Bistecca provided a complimentary dinner. There was also music, a cash machine and raffle prizes. The event raised more than $6,000, which the club donated to LPD Family Association today, Feb. 22 at its regular meeting.
