Keep Lewisville Beautiful will hold a free Garden Secrets class, “Saving from a Rainy Day: Making a Rain Barrel,” 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 at the MCL Grand theater, 100 N. Charles Street.
Does your rain just run off? Divert it, save it and use it. Come learn with Texas A&M Agrilife speaker Daniel Cunningham about the basics and benefits of rainwater harvesting and the effects storm water has on the environment. Participants will learn how to collect and utilize rainwater at home while building their very own 55-gallon rain barrel to take home. The cost is $50 for the supplies and seats are limited to the first 40 who RSVP.
