Fresh off a successful Sounds of Lewisville concert series, the City of Lewisville will keep things rockin’ in Wayne Ferguson Plaza with its “Rocktober” concerts on Tuesday nights starting at 7 p.m.
Two Tons of Steel- Oct. 9
Touring in support of their latest release, “Gone,” Two Tons of Steel returns to Lewisville with its distinctive Texas Country sound. The San Antonio-based quartet kicked off Lewisville Western Days 2016, entertaining the crowd with their signature brand of country-meets-punk. TTOS burst onto the scene in 1994 with their self-titled debut album. Along the way, the band has collected a number of awards. In 2003, the band was filmed during a “Two Ton Tuesday” gig for the IMAX film, “Texas: The Big Picture,” which can be seen daily at the IMAX Theatre in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin and has been seen as far away as Japan.
Even It Up – The Ultimate Heart Tribute Band- Oct. 16
Even It Up – The Ultimate Heart Tribute Band makes its Lewisville debut in Rocktober. This group of experienced performers has formed the best Heart tribute band in the southwest. Even It Up brings the same energy and musicianship found in the original rock n’ roll band. Classically trained singer Kristy Johnson, with her three-octave range, covers the powerful scope of Ann Wilson’s vocals, while Casey Nicole shreds on the guitar in the true spirit of Nancy Wilson.
Uptown Funk – Tribute to Bruno Mars- Oct. 23
No other rendition of Bruno Mars’ music comes close to this band with its level of accuracy and unmatched attention to detail. Uptown Funk’s stage production captures it all. Evan, Daniel, Danny, Sam, Zap, Jesse and Honore love what they do and provide an exciting mix of the Funk and Pop/R&B sound of Bruno Mars. Uptown Funk will guarantee to keep an audience on its feet. Uptown Funk has been touring since 2016 performing all the hits, including “24k Magic,” “Treasure,” and “Uptown Funk.”
HALLOWEEN BASH Oct 30
Bring the kids for some trick-or-treating at participating Old Town businesses from 5 to 7 p.m. Kids activities also will be set up around Wayne Ferguson Plaza.
At 7 p.m., Le Freak, the “Greatest Disco Band in the World,” returns to Lewisville to close out the Rocktober concert series. Le Freak gives an intensely unique, high energy, high quality, danceable disco show. Le Freak has done every type of event imaginable — corporate parties, weddings, birthdays, Debutante’ balls, festivals, bar mitzvah’s, fraternities, sororities, spelling bee contests, puppet shows — in every medium — television, film, radio — and in every type of environment, including indoors, outdoors, underwater and in outer space.
The “Rocktober” concert series is an initiative of the “Old Town” Big Move of the Lewisville 2025 vision plan. It’s part of a larger effort to continue developing Old Town Lewisville as a resident gathering site and a visitor destination. Limited bar/food sales will be available at each concert. Attendees also are encouraged to enjoy some of the dining options in Old Town.
Attendees can bring lawn chairs or blankets for their comfort during the concert. Glass bottles are strongly discouraged in Wayne Ferguson Plaza. Smoking/vaping is prohibited in all areas of the plaza. Attendees also are reminded there is no swimming or playing in the flowing water feature that runs along the north side of the Plaza. Well-behaved pets on a leash are welcome; owners are expected to clean up after their animals, and plastic bag dispensers are available on site.
