The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintenance work at Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA), originally scheduled for this week, will now happen May 14-24.
During this period, areas of LLELA east of the pavilion will be closed, which means there will be no fishing, no kayaking/canoeing in the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, no access to the Bittern Marsh Trail, no camping and a partial closure of the Redbud Trail.
Visitors will be able to access the Blackjack Trail, Cottonwood Trail, Cicada Trail, Beaver Pond Paddling Trail and most of the Redbud Trail.
USACE will be performing maintenance at the river outlet of Lewisville Lake. The delay in starting this project is due to a delay in similar maintenance work at Lake Grapevine.
