Starfish Expo — a mini comic book convention created and built by the special needs adult community of Lewisville Independent School District — will be held Nov. 11 and 12 at Griffin Middle School, 5105 N. Colony Blvd. in The Colony.
The purpose of this expo is to integrate multiple communities and provide a location for everyone to express their comic passions in an age-appropriate setting. The Expo will be open only for Lewisville ISD students 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 11 and open to the public 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 12.
Actor Jason Marsden and Major Dodson are the special guests for this year’s Expo. Marsden has appeared in shows like “Step by Step” and “Boy Meets World.” He is probably most famous for being the voice of Goofy’s son, Max, in 1995’s “A Goofy Movie,” but has also appeared in many other great cartoons. Major Dodson is a 13 year-old actor originally from Denton. He has appeared in “The Walking Dead” and “American Horror Story.” Both will be available to sign autographs and take pictures. Cosplay icon Taffeta Darling, cosplay group Heroic Inner Kids, and artist Jilani will also be at this year’s Expo.
98.7 KLUV radio will have a host on-site to interview students to play over the radio.
Ticket are $9 at the door and a student ticket covers both days.
