Seniors Helping Seniors program holds award ceremony

Associates of the Lewisville Senior Activity Center held its Annual “iPad Training Class Reception” at Lewisville’s Memorial Park Recreation Center on May 16.

The ceremony honored Lewisville ISD student iPad Instructors and senior citizens attending iPad classes held at the center.

ALSAC honored Vernell Gregg and Marty Worthington the Founders award. Students Megan Fritz and Tori King, who supervised the iPad classes, were honored with Allison Stamey. the Director of Student Activities at Lewisville High School. Fritz also received a $500 ALSAC college scholarship award recently. Senior Center Recreation Specialist Lisa Raetzman also received special thanks.

A special award for outstanding service and development of the iPad program was given to Joseph Seiler by the ALSAC board.

Fritz and King presented certificates of appreciation to 31 student iPad instructors. Raetzman presented certificates of achievement to 34 senior citizen trainees of the iPad program.

Dominick Pena, manager of the Fish City Grill in Flower Mound, was awarded a “Community Support Certificate” for the $1,600 raised for the center in its benefit program.
