PointBank tasted victory once again as the bank claimed top honors in the annual “Battle of the Banks,” food drive benefitting Christian Community Action (CCA). The bank claimed the winning title for the third year in a row by collecting 2,448 cans of tuna and chicken.
The “Battle of the Banks” food drive started three years ago. For the last two years, bank participants have been asked to host food drives that focus on collecting food items that will be used in CCA’s Bag of Blessings feeding program that provides shelf stable food for children in need over the summer weekends. Last year, CCA provided 54,320 meals to low income children through CCA’s Bag of Blessings program.
This year, participants were asked to collect cans of tuna and chicken. The competition kicked off on May 24 and continued through June 24. A total of 3,813 cans were collected between PointBank and competitors American National Bank, Commercial Bank of Texas, DATCU Credit Union and Independent Bank.
CCA’s new President and CEO Stephen Hood presented the PointBank team with a personalized award. PointBank’s name will also be included on a permanent award that will be displayed in CCA’s lobby.
Special thanks goes out to all the banks who participated in the “Battle of the Banks” food drive, as well as Chef Morris Salerno, who provided the food for the kickoff event as well as the appetizers for the celebration event at The Bistecca.
