Me and My Monkey, a Beatles tribute band, makes its return to Sounds of Lewisville concert series June 12 on the Lone Star Toyota Stage in Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W. Church Street. Jobi the Monkey will be the opening act.
Me and My Monkey made its Sounds of Lewisville debut back in 2001. That year, the band earned the People’s Choice Award and came back to perform in 2002.
For 20 years, Me and My Monkey has been a favorite on the North Texas concert scene. The band has been featured at International Beatles Week in Liverpool, England and has performed at the world-famous Cavern Club.
Concerts start at 7 p.m. every Tuesday night in June and July. The opening acts will perform 7-7:45 p.m. and headliners will perform 8-9:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for their comfort. Well-behaved pets on a leash are allowed at the shows. Food and beverages will be available for purchase as Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream, Cavalli Pizza, Tin Man Diner, and Mamitas will be on site.
Representatives from the Lewisville Public Library also will be onsite promoting the Summer reading program, and its new makerspace, The Hive.
