Volunteers are needed for Keep Lewisville Beautiful’s 26th annual Make-A-Difference Day wildflower planting 9 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 22. KLB’s annual beautification event will be held in conjunction with national Make-A-Difference Day and Keep America Beautiful’s Get Growing Day.
Keep Lewisville Beautiful is excited to announce that KLB is partnering with the Lewisville Independent School District Outdoor Learning Area to plant Texas native wildflowers along a special trail and common areas visited by thousands of students annually. In addition to helping plant these native wildflowers, volunteers are needed to help remove brush and invasive species along trails, seal picnic benches, and other projects that will benefit students who use the facility as an outdoor classroom. LISD Outdoor Learning Area is located at 101 Holford’s Prairie Road.
Last year, 198 volunteers showed community spirit by planting more than an acre of wildflowers at Lewisville Lake and the Outdoor Learning Area, sealing more than 80 benches and structures used for outdoor classrooms, clearing debris from several miles of trails, and helping beautify local education gardens.
Volunteers are encouraged to register with Keep Lewisville Beautiful at 972-538-5949, or email email@example.com. Registration also is available online at keeplewisvillebeautiful.org. Those volunteering need to include the number of people anticipated per group. Seed sponsorships also are available.
Breakfast snacks and drinks will be provided along with KLB T-shirts while supplies last. KLB will supply gloves and tools, or volunteers can bring their own. All ages are welcome.
