In an effort to save animal lives, reduce overcrowding in shelters and promote animal adoptions, all Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Animal Shelters have been asked to participate in the “Clear the Shelters” adoption event Aug. 18.
On that day, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center in Lewisville will waive all pet adoption fees. Adoption includes sterilization, microchip, viral vaccines, heartworm testing if applicable, city registration if the new owner is a Lewisville resident, rabies vaccine and 30 days of free pet insurance.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Cat’s Pride, NBC5, Telemundo 39 and 105.3FM The Fan are sponsors for this year’s event.
V.I.P. Pets is donating $200 in veterinary services for every adopted animal and PETCO donated discount coupons, dog food, cat food and adopter bags.
