City to hold ‘Imagine Art Here!’ public art workshop

The City of Lewisville is planning for public artworks in the city. As part of that process, the City will hold the “Imagine Art Here!” public art workshop 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2 at Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

The planning process will help establish a vision for public art, explain why public art is important to Lewisville and identify opportunities for public art projects throughout the community. The City is seeking creativity throughout the community to help shape the public art plan.

Earlier this year, Lewisville City Council awarded a contract to create the city’s Public Art Master Plan. Public art components are included in four infrastructure projects approved by Lewisville voters in the November 2015 bond election. This is the first time public art had been included in the initial planning for a Lewisville capital project. A desire for public art also was expressed by the public during development of the Lewisville 2025 vision plan.

This event is free and open to the public but attendance is limited. Dinner will be served at this workshop. Attendees must RSVP by emailing Jill Corbin at, or by calling her at 972-219-8446.
