The City of Lewisville and LLELA will release about 334 pounds of catchable rainbow trout Dec. 21 below the Lewisville Dam spillway into the river. The state will release 3,000 young trout over two days, Jan. 10 and 31.
Actual stocking dates are dependent on weather, so anglers should call the hatchery at 903-676-2277 to verify.
Trout anglers will need the $5 Freshwater Fishing Stamp, which is included in all freshwater license packages. Anglers under 17 years of age are not required to have a license or stamp. Texas fishing regulations apply.
