Burgess to hold town halls in Fort Worth, Frisco next week

U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess (R- Texas) will hold two town halls next week.

According to the congressman’s website, Burgess will address national security, the economy and affordable healthcare.

Burgess has represented District 26, which covers most of Denton County and some of Fort Worth, in Congress since 2002. He has hosted more than 100 town halls during his tenure. He’s up for re-election this year, opposed by Democratic candidate Linsey Fagan.

The town halls will be located in far-flung corners of the district. The first is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. July 31 at Keller Central High School, 9450 Ray White Road in Fort Worth, and the second will be 7 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 at New Life Community Church, 25631 Smotherman Road in Frisco. The meetings are open to all District 26 residents.
